Jonty Evans has been eventing internationally for more than 20 years. He was individually ninth at the 2016 Rio Olympics on Cooley Rorkes Drift and faced losing the horse this year as the owner looked to sell. Incredibly, Jonty managed to secure the £500,000 needed to buy the horse via crowd funding. Storm Straker was the cover star for our January/February 2017 issue of British Eventing Life - and, very fittingly, the snow came pouring down on the day of the shoot! The Straker family has a history of eventing success. Elaine Straker established the Little Hutton Equestrian Centre, rescued a horse that took her daughter, Karen, to the Junior European Eventing Championships and bred a horse that took her son, Nick, to Badminton.
