Book for Blenheim

Enjoy four days of action-packed eventing, entertainment and shopping at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials on 19-22 September, taking place in the spectacular grounds of Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the most prestigious dates in the equestrian calendar, the Oxfordshire event offers exciting competition with some of the best athletes in the world competing in the CCI4*-L, which is the pinnacle of eventing, and the CCI4*-S (8- and 9-year-old championship), with the chance to see the equine stars of the future.

There is also a range of competitions for grassroots riders, who will be fiercely competing in the much-loved Eventer Challenge presented by Spillers, plus the addition this year of the Pony Club Mounted Games and team show jumping.

The Blenheim Arena will host a packed schedule of entertainment every day, from dog agility and the Shetland Pony Grand National to hawk eye falconry. The Big Wheel, towering high about the grounds of Blenheim Palace, is a new attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings.

You can also browse the large shopping village – and not just for saddles or feed buckets. With more than 200 stores, there are an abundance of goodies, from handcrafted dog collars and belts to handbags, fine art and one-of-a-kind gifts. Then tantalise your taste buds on the FoodWalk, whether it's relaxing with a glass of fizz in the Champagne Bar or stopping for coffee and cake or something more substantial.

Finally, why not make the most of your visit and explore the 18th-century historical seat of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Wander the Palace interiors, with their fine portraits, tapestries and furniture, and the formal gardens designed by the famous landscape gardener ‘Capability’ Brown.

To make your experience even more special, upgrade to the members enclosure or the VIP Palace Pavilion and on Saturday and Sunday you could opt for Lakeside Parking for the perfect picnic spot, right next to the cross country course. No picnic would be complete without a Fortnum’s hamper featuring delicious seasonal ingredients and a bottle of wine or Champagne, which can be pre-ordered and collected from the Fortnum’s Giant Hamper in the grounds.
